Stereo Ground Glass Back

Our ground glass backs allow you to precisely view both your left and right images before you expose your shot, including precise framing, stereo divergence, and focus. 

The Basic ground glass back utilizes standard, vintage ground glass, with no frills.  It cannot mount any accessories.

The Deluxe back includes an adjustable accessory rail system that allows the quick mounting and dismounting of various accessories, and the addition of a light ridge on the camera mating surface to cut down on light leaks while viewing and further stabilize the back. It includes standard, vintage ground glass.  It comes with two rail-mount accessories: a protective back cap that protects your glass during travel or storage and a sun hood to enable viewing the back outdoors in sunlight.

The Deluxe Superbright includes all of the features of the Deluxe back, but utilizes an advanced, top-quality optical plastic ground glass screen with built-in fresnel lens that is about 2 stops brighter and includes an etched brightline grid.  The significant increase in price reflects our cost in purchasing the custom optical glass.  It comes with two rail-mount accessories: a protective back cap that protects your glass during travel or storage and a sun hood to enable viewing the back outdoors in sunlight.

Separately, we also have an optical Magnifying Viewer that greatly aids critical adjustments in even the brightest light.
