Magnifying Viewer

This magnifying viewer slides onto the accessory rails of our Deluxe Ground Glass Back and into either the left or right position, displaying one lens view at a time. By blocking stray light, it allows you to view your image without a handheld loupe, even outdoors in the sun, in sufficient detail to ascertain critical focus, framing, and stereoscopic divergence at different depth planes. It can even be slid to the right or left edge of the ground glass back, allowing it to be fully removed from view without taking it off the back.

This incorporates a high-end, achromat glass lens.

Rotate the eyepiece to focus for particular viewers’ eyes.

The Stereo version is specially formatted for our Stereo Deluxe Ground Glass back, and gives you a full view of one lens images at a time. It can be quickly slid between your two images, or to the edge of the ground glass back to clear the view of both. It will work on the 4x5 Deluxe Ground Glass back, but will reveal a smaller area than the large format version.

The Large Format version also works on both the Stereo and 4x5 versions of our Deluxe Ground Glass back, but is somewhat larger and optimized for the 4x5 back. It reveals about 2/3 of the full 4x5 ground glass image at a time, and can be slid into any position.

For 4x5 large format use, we also have a Full Frame Viewer that magnifies less and is physically much larger, but allows you to view the entire ground glass at a time.
