Manual Lensboard
Manual Lensboard
These lensboards have no electronic actuation. Other than the Manual Pinhole board, they require either two standard cable releases or one Olympus double cable release to trigger.
While primarily designed for the Stereo M, these boards are also compatible with the Stereo 12. Keep in mind, however, that you will need to use cable releases rather than the Stereo 12's built in electronic trigger.
The Manual Pinhole board does not require a cable release to operate. Its shutter is opened and closed directly.
Choose your lensboard from the options listed above. Each board is compatible with particular size of shutter. For information on all compatible lenses and which shutters they come in, see the Full Lens Info document.
Manual Pinhole: This board includes pre-drilled, precise pinholes and a pull-out, drop-in shutter that can be operated without any shutter release. It produces an image of approximately 50mm focal length. It is mounted directly to the camera without any spacers. It produces infinite depth of field, so no focusing is necessary.
Generic 0: This standard lensboard mounts two Copal 0, Compur 0, or Seiko 0 shutters, and their accompanying lenses. As long as their shutters are size 0, and they contain shutter release ports, they are compatible with this board.
Mamiya TLR: This board is similar to the Generic 0 board, but is notched specifically for Mamiya TLR (C Series) TLR lenses. These lenses come in pairs mounted to Mamiya lensboards, which makes them a good bargain (note, however, that you must purchase two sets, as each pair of lenses come with only one shutter). This board includes added shutter release ports and small glue-on ridges for Mamiya shutters, which do not include on-board release ports. Note that you can use this board with other size 0 shutters that lack on-board release ports, such as Horseman/Topcon lenses.
Compur 00: This board mounts lenses in Compur 00 shutters, with standard 62.5mm spacing.
Compur 00 57mm: This board mounts Compur 00 lenses, with a smaller stereo base: 57mm between the lenses. This allows you to shoot closer subjects and produces wider slides, but with less stereo depth at farther distances.
Century: This board mounts the Kodak 101mm lens, the Graflex Trioptar 103mm lens, and the Wollensak Optar 103mm lens. These lenses are commonly available and inexpensive. The Trioptar is a self-cocking shutter, which is particularly convenient on the Stereo M camera.
